Located in the village of Prullans in La Cerdanya, this house sits in an elevated area that offers tranquility and stunning views of the Sierra del Cadí. The main challenge of this plot lies in its steep slope and the hardness of the terrain, which posed a significant difficulty during both the design and construction phases.
To address this challenge and meet the client’s needs and comfort, we designed the parking at street level, allowing for convenient and direct access. From there, the house is accessed by moving further up the plot, which not only provides greater privacy but also maximizes the available space for the garden and outdoor porches.
For the house’s facades, we used Llívia stone, thermally treated wood, and iron, a combination that seamlessly integrates with the surroundings while offering an aesthetic that blends rustic and modern elements. The Llívia stone, with its distinctive texture and tones, combines with the warmth of the thermally treated wood to create a facade that reflects local tradition. The iron, applied selectively, adds a contemporary touch and highlights key design elements, achieving a harmonious balance between the classic and the modern.

VOLUMETRY THAT MAXIMIZES VIEWS
The key to this project has been finding the perfect balance between regulatory constraints, the terrain’s characteristics, and the client’s needs. We chose a geometry that maximizes the incredible views of La Cerdanya, ensures excellent orientation, and allows for the enjoyment of a large garden.
