Located in an exclusive development in Montrás, the House on the Costa Brava offers an oasis of peace, away from the hustle and bustle of the city and just 10 minutes from Palamós and its beautiful beaches. The plot faces south, with a gentle slope descending toward the rear, offering stunning views of the picturesque interior landscape of the Costa Brava.

The house, based on two rectangles, features a permeable geometry with courtyards and setbacks along its perimeter, creating small contemplative gardens, porches, and covered outdoor areas, fostering spatial continuity with the garden and the surrounding environment. Situated at the top of the land, the house makes the most of the topography to create a large front space with an elegant swimming pool and outdoor areas designed for outdoor enjoyment.

The ground floor design implements a strategic layout that maximizes the connection with the natural environment and optimizes the use of the garden. The proposal consists of two clearly differentiated volumes arranged perpendicularly, allowing us to make the most of the garden views and orientations.

One of the volumes houses the living room, dining room, and kitchen, all facing south. This orientation ensures these main living areas enjoy optimal sunlight, creating bright and warm spaces. The front porch complements this volume, offering an additional area to enjoy the outdoors and further integrate with the garden.

The second volume contains the bedrooms and their bathrooms, located on the south and east sides. This layout ensures that the private areas also receive abundant natural light and pleasant views.

Between these two volumes is the access core, which acts as the connecting point between the living areas and the private zones. This core opens onto a contemplative courtyard, creating an intermediate space that offers a peaceful and visually enriching corner.

Living in the House on the Costa Brava means immersing yourself in an environment where modern architecture merges with natural beauty, offering a unique and revitalizing living experience. Every detail of the House on the Costa Brava has been designed to create a retreat of tranquility and unparalleled beauty.

CONTEMPLATIVE COURTYARDS THAT CONNECT WITH THE ENVIRONMENT

We started with a rectangular geometry that transforms and enriches through the inclusion of contemplative courtyards. These courtyards not only break the continuity of the structure but also promote permeability and direct connection with the natural surroundings.

The contemplative courtyards are designed as spaces for introspection and tranquility, providing a respite within the everyday rhythm. Each one allows for generous natural light and facilitates cross-ventilation, improving indoor comfort and promoting a healthy environment.

NATURAL AND TRADITIONAL INTEGRATION

In our architectural project, we have carefully selected natural materials such as wood and stone to harmoniously integrate the house with its surroundings. Natural tones, like sand and stone, blend seamlessly with the surrounding landscape.

In addition to their aesthetic impact, natural materials offer practical advantages. Wood brings warmth and a sense of comfort, while stone provides durability and resistance to the elements.

PORCHES THAT ENHANCE THE ARCHITECTURAL EXPERIENCE

In our architectural design, open spaces play a fundamental role by allowing natural light to flow freely, flooding every corner with its brilliance. This abundance of light not only enhances the beauty of the interiors but also creates a sense of spaciousness and freedom. The common spaces thus transform into welcoming and expansive environments, where each area invites relaxation and connection with the surroundings.

Porches, strategically designed as natural extensions of the indoor spaces, play a crucial role in this architectural integration. More than just transitional areas, the porches act as fluid links between the indoors and outdoors, offering shaded refuge and allowing the enjoyment of the breeze and outdoor views. These additional spaces not only visually extend the limits of the home but also enrich the living experience by providing versatile areas for rest and social interaction.

INTERIOR DESIGN THAT INSPIRES CONTINUITY AND TRANQUILITY

The entire interior design, furniture, and décor have been carefully selected to create a sense of continuity and tranquility. Open spaces and abundant natural light combine to produce a sense of spaciousness in all common areas, providing a warm and relaxing atmosphere.

Additionally, we have taken advantage of the sloped roof to increase height in the main rooms, leaving exposed wooden ceilings. We use interior materials such as lime plaster on the walls, dry stone walls, and oak wood slats, which bring a traditional Mediterranean style, creating a cozy and warm atmosphere.

CONTINUOUS MATERIALS AND NATURAL TONES

In our studio, we understand that every detail matters in creating spaces that are not only functional but also aesthetically pleasing and harmonious.

The use of continuous materials in our sinks is one of our signature elements. Microcement or solid surfaces allow us to create seamless finishes that are not only visually attractive but also easy to maintain. Continuity in the surfaces provides a sense of spaciousness and cleanliness, eliminating visual interruptions and offering a modern and sophisticated aesthetic.

We opt for natural colors that evoke tranquility and connection with the environment. Soft tones such as beige, stone gray, wood, and earthy shades create a relaxing and timeless atmosphere in the bathrooms.

OAK AND STONE: THE PERFECT FUSION

Wood has been the central element in transforming the interior into a haven of warmth and sophistication. We use brushed oak, a material that combines elegance, durability, and a unique texture, to create a cozy and visually captivating atmosphere. The brushed oak paneling on walls and doors adds rich and visually appealing texture.

The combination of oak wood and stone in the interior design offers a perfect balance between warmth and sturdiness. The soft, warm texture of oak contrasts wonderfully with the hardness and sophistication of stone, creating spaces that are both welcoming and imposing. The contrast between the softness of oak and the texture of stone creates an interesting visual dynamic that enriches the interior design.

By merging the natural warmth of brushed oak with the resilient sophistication of stone, we design interiors that are both timeless and modern, offering a lasting experience of quality and style.

TRANSFORMING SPACES WITH INDIRECT LIGHTING

In the design of the house, lighting plays a fundamental role that goes beyond simply illuminating spaces. Indirect lighting, in particular, is a technique that not only enriches the aesthetics of a setting but also enhances the functionality and emotional experience of its inhabitants.

Indirect light reflects off surfaces such as wooden ceilings, stone walls, or floors before illuminating the space. This creates a soft, diffused light that eliminates harsh shadows and bothersome reflections, providing a welcoming and balanced atmosphere. Its ability to transform spaces, improve well-being, and enhance aesthetics makes it an essential choice for creating harmonious and functional environments.
