Located on Casanova Street in Barcelona, this renovation project focuses on revitalizing the apartment by restoring and enhancing its original architectural elements. The main objective is to recover the unique character of the space, highlighting the exposed beams and restoring the distinctive greenish color of the carpentry, which is also integrated into the furniture of the home to create a uniform and harmonious aesthetic.
A key aspect of the renovation is the opening of a load-bearing wall, which allows for greater spaciousness and brightness in the living areas. This modification not only amplifies the feeling of space but also improves the visual connection between different environments, making the home more functional and welcoming.
Regarding finishes, the decision was made to leave the Catalan vaulted ceilings and brick walls visible, adding a modern and textured touch to the environment. The kitchen furniture design is based on the color of the original carpentry, establishing a visual continuity throughout the space. The flooring, carefully selected, introduces touches of color that complement the tone of the ceiling, creating a vibrant and cohesive atmosphere that highlights the unique personality of the home.

“Color in architecture not only defines the aesthetics of a space but also influences perception and mood, transforming environments and creating unique atmospheres.”

“The traditional architecture of Barcelona offers unique spaces that, with their architectural details and singular design, create environments full of history and distinctive character.”
