Can Madriguera is a stately house built in 1919. It is a square-shaped building with a basement, ground floor, upper floor, and attics, surrounded by a Mediterranean garden and an artificial pond facing east. The building is in a historicist style. The roof, made of slate, is gabled, with trunk-pyramid corners. The main access staircase, built of marble, stands out along with the stylistic decorative elements that outline the entire building.
Between 2003 and 2005, the house was completely restored—an elevator and spiral staircases were added—while trying to preserve as many original elements as possible.
We were commissioned to carry out a comprehensive renovation of this house with the aim of updating its spaces and modernizing the furniture, while simultaneously respecting the character and historical essence of the residence. In this project, we sought a balance between the classic and the contemporary, renewing each room to improve functionality while also providing a current elegance that integrates naturally with the original architecture, creating more open and continuous spaces.
